Photographic film is highly sensitive to moisture, salt, dirt, and physical damage. For photographers working outdoors, travelling, or shooting in challenging environments, standard plastic film canisters offer little protection beyond basic handling. Accidental immersion, heavy rain, or rough handling can easily damage or destroy unexposed or exposed film.
The case is durable and its sealed enclosure keeps film dry, clean, and protected, even in demanding conditions. I designed this case for my brother Rex, who crossed the Atlantic on a rowboat; and for my friend Luke, who is an expedition cinematographer for BBC’s natural history division.
